Into Thy Word Missions Information Letter Missions Information Letter Winter, 2005 Dear Supporters, Friends and Family: God’s Grace upon you! My wife and I and our baby on the way send you the Lord’s greetings! Mary and I had a very busy this year. Yes, we do not send out very many letters, two a year, because we are so busy with ministry we just do not have the time. However, we are in great need for prayer and support! Our giving is the lowest it has ever been due to the hurricane relief and Pakistan earthquake taking the funds, though needed; it leaves us in great need. Mary and I need between 4 and 5 thousand dollars to get our bills paid and be solvent through March. It is expensive to live very modestly here in So-Cal! We have a deficit of nearly one thousand dollars a month from our current support level and Mary’s job. We need your partnership to continue in ministry, especially with a baby on the way. Here are some of our 2005 Highlights:
· I have a new book out, “The Field Guide to Healthy Relationships.” It is a theological perspective on God’s plan and call for our relational lives with one another. Please pass the word on this; I believe it is a good book and a hopefully primary source of income. It is available at any bookstore online or in a regular bookstore as a special order.
· I was just picked up by another publisher for a book I wrote several years ago, will finally get its day, called “Net-Work” based on Matthew 4:18-19, how to build your faith to share your faith. It should be out by summer.
· Our trip to India this summer was a phenomenal success as I took nine others from my church in Pasadena to put on crusades, train pastors and do a work project. Thousands of people were touched by our efforts and your prayers and support. Over a thousand people made firm professions of faith for the first time. This was my wife Mary’s first mission’s trip overseas and it has a profound impact on her too.
· At Into Thy Word, my focus in the 80+ countries we are in, is training over 20,000 pastors in India, training over 150 pastors in Pakistan, vicariously planting churches there too (200 thus far), developing the curriculums for “Campus Crusade for Christ” to use in their Seminaries in Africa, coordinating the LAC teams to India and, of course, speaking and writing.
· We lost two of our pastors and two churches in the earthquake in Pakistan; this has been a hardship regaining the momentum, as persecutions are stepping up. We had several of our people in India kidnapped and almost killed, then miraculously escaped. Thank you for your payers on this!
· The best for last: As soon as we came back from India, we found out we are pregnant! After ten years of trying and the expense and trials with fertility treatments that did not work, God provided un-expectantly after we were on the verge of giving up. It is all Him, no drugs or treatments! Praise Him! Our son is due to arrive May 7th. We are giving him the initials “R.J.” mine and my father’s initials. His middle name will be after my grandfather James. We are still in search of a meaningful first name. Thank you for all of your prayers in this matter - prayer does indeed work!

We do this through the missionary efforts of training pastors overseas, church leadership consulting, curriculum development and our interactive Website resources, a part of Mission America and the USCWM!). We need dedicated missionaries to teach pastors in Russia Biblical exegetical methods and we need people to help with administration, translating our “Pastor Training Packs” into different languages and fundraising. We have many other places of opportunity too. Our personal prayer requests is for our giving to increase, Mary to have a good pregnancy and delivery, and a healthy boy who will grow in faith and stature to our Lord’s glory! · GIVE – I am a missionary and ITW is a mission’s endeavor. I receive no salary while carrying out Christ's Great Commandment and Great Commission and this requires money. We need to raise support for our expenses in teaching people how to study the Bible. I also need to raise over $5,000 for Bibles and CD’s for our pastors in Pakistan and India! · READ – one of my books such as “Into Thy Word,” so you will gain more practical insights and encouragement to your study and devotions. Into Thy Word and my other books are available from any on-line bookstore such as bn.com or amazon.com, just type in the name of the book ‘into thy word’ or my name in their search engine. If you feel that you are a part of this plan, any gift that you give would be extremely appreciated.
